3 Days riding trek in the Etruscan land

from VULCI to CASTRO...

1° day:

-One day riding trip with the BUTTERI, the italian cowboys, in the Archaeological VULCI PARK, where we will work with livestocks among several herds of cows and horses grazing in wild state and we will ride through Etruscan Ruins, Necropolis and Hermitages.

We will reach the PELLICONE LAKE, and cross the VULCI Etruscan BRIDGE, wich is 2.500 years old and 35 metres hight.

Lunch at the Casaletto Mengarelli.

Dinner and Overnight in a typical Maremmano Farmhouse in PIETRAFITTA.

2° day:

-Breakfast and departure for one day trip to reach the CASTRO Ruins and Necropolis in a lonely "Maremmano" atmosphere.

We will cross the CAVONE, an ancient narrow path dug out into the tuff rock, one hundred metres long and twenty metres high.

On the way back to PIETRAFITTA we will stop for lunch in a sheephard's inn, where we will taste many local cheeses and a lot of vegetables and sheep meat.

Dinner and overnight in the maremano farmhouse in Pietrafitta.

3° day:

-Breakfast and departure for 1 day trip to a lonely and fascinating area reaching the unknown CASCO del BACCANO waterfall and the POGGIO CONTE Hermitage, in a very wild canyon along the Fiora River.

After a stop and snack at the Hermitage, we will cross a lonely valley where many horses, cows and sheeps graze in a wild state.

The trek will end at about 4 pm in VULCI PARK.
